Update!

This weekend I am going to start making the videos. My sister is going to help me and I am going to do certain soccer skills that can help you improve in a game. That is the biggest task I have to complete by June 10th. I plan to accomplish that by this weekend and by getting help my from my younger sister. The most interesting thing I have learned so far is about when soccer was created and where it originated from.

Hopefully next time I post my project will be done!!!

Passion Project- Blog 3

Hey, so over the weekend I had two soccer games. We played a team called the Lawrence Hamnett Fireballs. We first played them on Saturday away at their home field. For starters the field was terribly bumpy, since it was that way making sure our first touches were good was essential to even having a chance in winning. That is one of the area we went wrong, our first touches were horrendous, they went everywhere and they would just steal the ball. Here is a link to a video on first touches and improving your speed of your foot skills.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGKnFncCOmg Another thing we needed to work on was shots, we ended up loosing that game 5-0, it was not pretty. On Sunday we played them again and did so much better. We got to the ball, made a good first touch, and a nice pass. We still lost 2-0 but it was for sure better than the first game. I have 2 more games this weekend and next weekend (Mothers Day) I have a tournament in Manheim Pennsylvania, I am sure a lot more soccer is to come in the next couple weeks!

Passion Project- Post Two

So over the weekend I had a soccer game, it was my second one of the season. I did not write about my first game yet but we did a great job and we won. The game that happened on Saturday was not as good. We tied 1-1 but there was a lot of things us as the team and the coaches themselves saw we could have improved on . One of the main things I noticed was our first touches could have been a lot better. There are drills for that that everyone knows and that with a soccer ball, and a walls that's outdoors (unless you want to break something) and just kick the ball at the wall. When it comes back to you you have to make a nice first touch my trapping the ball on the inside of your foot. There are many other drills that I am still researching for my final project. Here is a picture of my team at my game. We are the Hainesport Force

I will be back next week after my game, I have two next weekend, one Saturday and one Sunday. Wish me luck! -Joanna

Day 1 - Passion Project

When working on my Passion Project, I am focusing on soccer. I chose soccer because I love the sport of soccer, I am outside practicing mostly everyday but I know there has to be drills that can really help improve my skills. That's what I want to focus on. My question that will guide me through this project is What techniques are best for improving in soccer universally? I chose this because some people are self motivators and always wanting to improve their abilities.
